- g808: Reinstalled Vista and setup Media Center with the HDHomeRun (unencrypted digital cable) on the XPS 420. Now just need the CableCARD tuners.
- g808: Spent 2 hours on the phone with Dell support today to get my CableCARD tuners re-ordered. Can't wait to take the customer support survey.
- g808: Had a great 4th of July steak dinner. Now spending time with the XPS 420. Re-installing Vista to get rid of all the Dell crapware.
- g808: My Dell XPS 420 came today. CableCARD tuner order still canceled. Still waiting for snail mail from Dell finance to get the order uncanceled

I saw that you were installing Feisty Fawn in Parallels? I couldn’t get it done (I’m a noob to Mac, Linux and Parallels). Any insight from the master?

Some of the screenshots are out of date, but the basics are there. I had to select the Parallels “OS Tye” as Solaris and the “OS Version” as Other Solaris when setting up and installing Ubuntu. After the Ubuntu installation was done, and I did the reboot of Ubuntu I needed to stop the Parallels VM, change the OS Type to Linux and the OS Version to Other Linux kernal 2.6. Then start the VM and Ubuntu booted up fine.

I have some questions about your DVR setup, as I am constructing my own… Can you please read my post over at BYOPVR.com, and give me some feedback.
Also, do you have the ability to record 6x analog at once? Can you post some pics of your working rig?
